Katherine attended Kendall School of Design in Grand Rapids, MI in the Early 1980s where she majored in Graphic Design.

Although she put art aside to raise a family of 2 girls as a stay at home mom, creating has always been an integral part of her life. In many volunteer organizations her skills were frequently utilized.

In 2005 bought a 90 year old home and  remodeled the house into Westfield’s only Art gallery. The Gallery opened March 2006 and represents  local artists.

Katherine started painting again after 20 years sabbatical. Her art work has been a positive and inspiring outlet and has been successful in selling her contemporary artwork to businesses and art collectors.

Her works range in prices from 250.00 to 1,600.00  12x12 to 48x48

Katherine's objective, abstract creations grace the walls of the gallery along with the works of other local artists.

Katherine works on 6 to 8 pieces at a time and takes Several months to create them.  With an emphasis on color and texture, her pieces have a history to them such as a book with many chapters.  Works appeal to a large variety of collectors.

Each Paianting is a story. It is a story about life and nature.  It is a story about experiences, about people and places, Peace and harmony.

The Color and texture in Katherines  acrylic on canvas paintings are sentences and paragraphs in each story that builds, deepens and grows rich over time.  Layers on layers applied in a several week process express the inspiration she finds all around her everyday living, observing and interacting with people and created nature.

Katherines style is expressive abstract which allows her to explore fascinations with texture and color, and the ever-changing and infinite possibilities for combination and outcome.

This endless potential is also expressed in the fine silver jewelry she creates from PMC (Precious Metal Clay)As a certified teacher in this medium, she finds joy in assisting others to find their artistic " voice" and to create pieces that enable them to enjoy the artistic process.

As an artist and fine art gallery owner, she finds deep satisfaction in inspiring others to create and exprerience the gift of the arts.
